Hey there!

Hi! I’m Kyara — founder and creator of Drift.

I was in Grade One, living in the Philippines, when our teacher asked us to draw a portrait of who we wanted to be when we grew up. My drawing wasn’t the prettiest (I was seven, after all), but it was clear: I wanted to be an artist.

Since then, life has taken me to a few more countries, boarding school, university, and all the twists and turns of “becoming an adult.” But through it all, that little girl’s dream stuck with me — and Drift is my way of finally honouring it.

Drift is an ever-evolving reflection of my creative journey. It’s an amalgamation of all the ways I express myself — from large-scale murals to delicate illustrations, to whatever new medium catches my eye tomorrow.

But Drift is also something deeper. It’s about that feeling of losing yourself in the flow of creating — of drifting away from the stress, the noise, the overwhelm of everyday life. As someone who has navigated mental health challenges, I’ve found immense peace and grounding through art. Creating has been my therapy, my escape, and my way of reconnecting with myself.

My dream is to share that feeling with others — to build a community where we can all drift away for a little while, together. Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or just need a quiet moment to breathe, Drift is a space for you.

Thanks for being here — I hope you stay a while. 💙
